Can testicular torsion cause infertility?

Testicular torsion refers to the torsion of the spermatic cord that supports the testicle due to a blow or bad manoeuvre, for example when riding a bicycle. The consequence of this is inflammation and interruption of the blood supply in the testicle. So it can lead to serious problems if not corrected right away, including loss of the testicle.

It should be noted that spermatogenesis is interrupted in the testicle after 4 or 6 hours with the absence of blood flow.
